Introdution
It is very frustrating to be forced to use some non programmer friendly operating systems. Most of the societies I'm working with customers who work mainly on Windows and programming in this environment is very painful. To ease the pain I decided to use either Cygwin or MinGW to be more productive.
This page presents a ready to use MSYS/MinGW package:
- GCC
- RXVT
- BASH
- ...
and some usefull softwares:
MSYS
You can build your distribution yourself with msys.lua. To use this script, you'll need:
- GNU/Linux and Wine
- wget
- BonaLuna
- tar with LZMA support (-J option)
You can also download a package I prepared for you: msys.exe (180 MiB!!!).
Add-ons
Add-ons are .zip or .7z archives containning an install.sh script. Add-ons shall be put in the addons directory. When a new session is started, add-ons are installed (the archive is unpacked, installed and deleted).
Docutils is provided by default in msys.exe. Other optional add-ons are:
